Taylor Swift is leading this year's Country Music Association Award nominations.

The 'Love Story' hitmaker - who has bagged six of the coveted accolades in previous years - is up for five gongs, including Album of the Year and Song of the Year, and is the only female to receive a nod in the Entertainer of the Year category.

However, the 22-year-old singer admitted she is "flipping out" with excitement after being nominated for so many of the prestigious awards.

Writing on her twitter page, she said: "Thanks to you guys and the CMA voters, we got 5 CMA NOMINATIONS THIS MORNING!!! I am flipping out!!! (sic)"

Taylor isn't the only artist to receive five nominations, as Brad Paisley - who is also co-hosting the ceremony - Blake Shelton and Jason Aldean are also up for five awards.

The foursome will battle it out against Keith Urban in the Entertainer of the Year category, as well as for the Album of the Year award, with Taylor's 'Speak Now', Jason's 'My Kinda Party' Blake's 'All About Tonight and Brad's 'This Is Country Music' all receiving nominations.

Hosted by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley, the 45th Annual CMA Awards will take place at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on November 9.
