Joe Nichols teamed up with Billy Bob's on Saturday to help the victims of the tsunami and earthquake that hit Japan last month.

Nichols fans were offered a special $10 wristband to attend the artist's performance at the Fort Worth venue. Proceeds from the sales benefit the Red Cross and its ongoing efforts to assist the Japanese people.

In other news, Joe also was a featured guest and performer at the recent USO of Metropolitan Washington's 29th Annual Awards Dinner, held April 12 at the Ritz-Carlton in Pentagon City.

The night was devoted to honoring outstanding individuals from each branch of service, as well as the exceptional people who support our nation's service members through volunteerism and USO-Metro's countless charitable programs.

Nichols was invited to attend and perform at the event after Elaine B. Rogers, President of the USO Metropolitan Washington, saw the moving music video for his single, "The Shape I'm In."

Joe shares, "I was honored the receive the invitation to be a party of such a wonderful event that pays tribute to those who serve our nation." He adds, "Getting to spend time with those honored by the USO as well as other military folks attending the dinner was truly one of the most humbling and important evenings I have ever been a part of."

Over 500 guests joined with USO-Metro to honor our nation's heroes and their families, with the sold-out gala raising over 572,000 for USO-Metro.

Nichols, of course, san "The Shape I'm In" at the event. Be sure to watch the video for the song, which shines light on those soldiers who have had trying times and can still see the light at the end of the day.
