I attended the Country Throwdown Tour this past weekend in Gilford, NH. What an awesome show! Unfortunately I had an extremely intoxicated person sitting behind me who was constantly spilling her beer down my back. I'm a very patient person and tolerated this for quite sometime but the final blow was when she vomited all over me. This made it hard to enjoy the last 3 acts and the 2 hour ride home was very unpleasant. Please pick me so I can enjoy all of the show!!!!!!

This sounds like a perfect weekend! What a great lineup. I've always dreamed of going to california, and i cant think of what would be a better way to visit than getting a chance to see the likes of Eric Church, Montgomery Gentry and Little Big Town . But Jamey Johnson Is by far my favorite singer/songwriter in music today. To be honest, untyil i discovered The Dollar, I had really fallen out with country music because the "country sound" that used to be heard by the greats like Waylon, Johnny Cah, Johnny paycheck, George Jones, and others...was simply missing in modern country music. The "poppy" type country music has never been for me, and Jamey seems to reiterate what country music was, is, and will be in its purest, from the soul-driven sound that leaves no doubt where music originally comes from. And that is inside us all. As a guitar player, and as a great fan to Jamey and Eric, it would be an honor to get a chance to attend this show. What a lifelong memory it would be. And a good time to boot.

Since January of 2008, my husband (and BFF) have been apart due to his work and the economy. In January of 2008 he was relocated, 6 hours from home, it was a long 2 months before I was able to join him. After 18 months at that location, it was time to move again, this time 13 hours from home, although through most of the time we were together, now we are apart. He is still 13 hours from me, it is alot of long days and nights spent on the phone and thank god for the web cams. Our three year anniversary in June 30 and we are not sure if we will be together or not, since our first "offical date" was a country concert (Brooks N Dunn) and every year we have been together we have purchased a country mega pack ticket until this year, what a better way to SURPRISE him then with a chance to attend a concert in CA, where his sister is currently residing.

I love country music, I recently lost my job and have no Idea when I will be able to afford to go to something like this again.

My husband is a member of the US ARMY. He spends his days training the soldiers who are headed overseas. I spend my days taking care of our family. We don't get out much except when we drive 1200 miles to washington state for our visits with my oldest who lives with her dad there. Of course the younger two kids would come with us on this trip, if we win, but it would be so nice to get out and have an adventure!

My husband is a truck driver and works 60 hrs a week just to keep the roof over our heads.He just took a 15% paycut just to keep his job. We got married when I first got back from overseas. I had got injured and had a long road to recovery. I injured my knee and have been dealing with it ever since. We couldnt go on a honeymoon right after we got married b/c of all my surgeries and physical therapy. Then a year later we found out she was pregnant with my son. Now I volunteer my time with a local fire department helping out as much as I can with my disability to help others. And now we are still dealing with the VA and my back pay that they owe me. So we have been making it off of only $300.00 a month.And she has been very stressed along with me but that doesnt stop me from still helping others when they really need it. So this is why I believe I should be considered to win.

I would like t take my son to this because he has only been to one country concert in his life and that was when he was 5 years old and he will be 15 on july 2oth. I was recently in a motorcycle accident and the music by several of the artists in the Country Throwdown have helped me during the recovery period. I have always been a country fan, especially growing up in Nashville so with everything that has happened it would be like the frosting on the cake.

If I were to win, me and my daughter would attend the country throwdown. She is growing up to be a fine young woman and it has been a pleasure to share many things with her as she has grown up. One of the things that we still enjoy together is listening to country music - it has sustained us through many a difficult period. I want to continue to share things with her and let her know I am always there for her when she needs me. Attending this concert together would continue to strengthen the bond we have with one another.

I have grown up listening to country music. The legends...like George Jones, Merle Haggard..I have always had a true appreciation for the pure emotion that shines through a great country song.
I currently work two jobs..at the age of 19, saving every penny in order to stay in college, I have a strong work ethic..which seems to be lacking in this society, especially amongst the people of my generation.

Huge country music fan from NC and never been to California

I love country music and so does my husband. My husband is retiring from the military after 20 years. He has been deployed overseas 5 times and is currently serving at a base away from home. In the 14 years we have been married we have spent more time away it seems than together, this would make a great retirement celebration for us.

I would love to go to this show, I have a 21/2 yr old little girl, and money is tight. I had the option of taking a paycut or being laid off so i took the better option. Things are tight but i make it work and dont really get a chance to go do much anymore and would love nothing more then to enjoy some good music and a little vac.!!!

My best friend held my hand and cried with me all the way to the OR...then was the first person I saw when I woke up in CCU. That is when he allowed himself to cry real tears of joy that I had made it through. He has been a true blessing in my life and I would love to reward him with this fantastic trip! I have performed with Johnny Duncan and David Frizzell, and won the opportunity to sing in Nashville, TN on the Midnight Jamboree. I really really wanna go because I had a baby Dec 10 and I have a 12 yr old that was also born Dec 10th. So I have a baby and a teenager and need a get away plus the doctor messed my epidoral up and I felt 17 hours of labor, ya time for a getaway plus country is all I listen to. I am a 41yr old stay at home mom.I stay at home everyday taking care of my kids and my 19 month old grandbaby(so her mother can continue with her job and her education).I need a vacation!!! I don't listen to anything but country music. Well except for mountain music. Anyway i know just about every song in country music, and i'm 17! the chance to go to a country music concert is extraordinary.

This would be the best gift I could give my 13 year old daughter, Cassandra! I grew up listening to Country Music. My mom still has all her old albums, Loretta Lynn, Lynn Andersen, George Jones, Conway Twitty, Charlie Pride. You name it she probably has it! I have weaned my daughter on Country Music too! We love to drive in our Jeep singing to the radio ~ Internation Harvester, Red Neck Woman, just about every song! My daughter and I have been going through some rough times. We lost her dad to a heartattack 5 years ago, my neck and back are in pretty bad shape and currently going through another health issue, currently her oldest sister is in jail and we've lost visitation with her children (2-12 years old) because of it. This trip would give both of us a bright day in our ordinary, drag through the day lives :)

country music was in my life long before my family had a tv. which was odd since i'm 43. anyhow we would all sit on the livinroom floor and my parents would turn on the record player. taunia tucker, lorreda lynn, charlie pride, conway twitty, buck owons, roy rogers, and the list goes on. this was our family time. the time when i remember it being the best. mama would pop popcorn on the stove. the lights turned down low and just hours of good music, things aren't like that anymore, to much electronics have taken the place of simplier things. country music is still a big part of my life, and always will be. when we finally did get tv it was hee haw, the grande ole' opery and what ever else was on that depicted country at it's finist. love all the old and the new. the ones past on and the ones takin there place. when my son was alive he won a two tickets to a counrty concert at the hult center and a new outfit from one of the country western store. instead of takin the free outfit he got himself a brush popper shirt and one for me to wear to the concert, one of the best nights of my life. he past away almost 14 years ago at age 14, but he lives on of course in my heart as well as the night he took his mama to a contry western concert.they still sing the songs that make us cry and the ones that bring us to our feet to shout out. god bless country and all the joy it's brought to my life.

I love country music, I grew up in a musical family with an uncle and cousin who could very well could have made it in the music industry if they had just had the initiative (which they didnt). I work very hard and barely have enough to make bills every month let alone take in a live concert. I am a huge Jamey Johnson and Montgomery Gentry fan and so is my son. We have met Eddie and Troy when they did the Music and Miles for Kids with Dierks Bentley in Nashville a few years back. And MG took him up on stage. Awesome experience and great guys. Like Jamey Johnson I was also in the Marine Corps. I think he is the best singer/songwriter on the planet. He is a true country storyteller. As a singer/songwriter myself, he is my hero.

I have went to class for 4 straight semesters and in a couple weeks will have my license. I am a huge Montgomert Gentry fan and have seen them 4 times in concert. I don't make much money right now because my I have to give away hours at work for school and haven't been able to see a concert in some time. Please consider me for the tickets.

I lost my dad to liver cancer, became a widow 5yrs. ago at the age of 29 and the single mother of two kids. Three months after my husband died we found out my mom had breast cancer. The past five yrs. have been hard. I have been full time mom and dad while trying to go back to school. And making sure that my kids get to do the things they want (sports, band). Doing all of this leaves no "me time" and I would like to have a "me break".

I had just recently got my job back with Gibson Guitar after being laid off for a year. Now since the. Flood we have received in Nashville. It had destroyed Gibson plant. Why do I deserve to win, that's a good question. How about because I'm old (okay 47) and I am a huge country music fan. The first song I knew all the words to was Rose Garden. Besides being a huge music fan, I am in the need of a vacation. I started college at 40, got my Bachelors by 44 and the last few years I've just been mentally following my children around the world. I have 5 and 4 of them joined the United States Air Force. They are my amazing heroes. My son Steven is currently at Bagram AFB in Afganistan. Country music, the feel of it, the soul, the words help me have the grit to get through each day. I know that I am never alone and that the pride I have in my country and children is felt by the Country Music Artists.

I would say if there is a reason I should win its because I have been severing our country in the United States Army station in Fort Campbell Ky. I am going to be out of the Army in May on a medical retiremnet. I had to go through chemo and it had some side effects on me that I no long can remain in the Army. While i was on chemo my family would come down to see me. They would get me out of the house and take me to Nashville. I wouldnt be able to stay long because I would get weak and needed to rest. I have always loved country music. I am a fighter and I never gave up and music has helped me with my own battle. I have made a row to myself that I have to live life, laugh alot and love even the small things in life. There would be no better way to start the new chapter in my life than with all of you!!!

My man suffered a stroke over a year ago. He keeps a positive attitude despite being confined to a wheelchair. When he was in the hospital we vowed to each other that we wouldn't wait to be happy, ie...total recovery, or use of his left side, or when he could walk again. So everyday we try to make the most of our time by not waiting to be happy-we get out and live. I have never been much of a country music fan, but in the last couple of years I've really taken an interest in Jamey Johnson. He's such an amazing songwriter and entertainer. I caught his Rowdy Friends tour with Hank Jr. just this past friday night and was totally captivated by his performance. Country is a family tradition- besides loving it myself-my deceased Dad & Grandparents, lived with Country Music-My Dad would go out into shop & turn Country Radio on wide open--The neighbors didn't have to have a radio!My grandparents also was very country, didn't have Tv so radio & country music was what it was all about. Good times with my family clapping & stomping to the beat back then & now! My Mom is still listening to country. I raised my kids on Country Music, mainly Waylon Jennings. They were the first to hear Jamey and and brought him to my attention. He is the first real country singer since Waylon to hit the scene. My oldest son is getting married in September so i would like to win the tickets so him and his brother could go, kinda as a last big hoorah before he becomes a married man...

I appreciate the authenticity of Jamey's voice. There is something real country about him. As if he truly were "the last cowboy" If I won, I would take my Dad. He is who instilled country in me since before I was born. I am a 23 year old young lady who can't help but get goin when a country song is on. It's in me... it is me and thus I think I should win!

My wife and I went to see Hank Jr. and Montgomery Gentry in Nashville. I had waited my whole life to see Hank in concert,I knew every song from him and his daddy, but I left with a Montgomery Gentry T-shirt. We went to see Jamey Johnson in Bowling Green, when he started to sing "In Color" he had to step away from the mic and revel in the glory of hundreds of voices singing his song in perfect harmony. I've never seen so many rowdy rednecks come together without a keg and a bonfire. Was by far the best concert I've ever seen.

I have loved jamey Johnson's music since the very first time i heard him. The songs on The Lonesome Song Cd touch me in a place no other artist has ever reached. It's like he is singing my life with his song. I have always been a hard core rock n roll fan but Jamey has opened up the world of country music to me and taken me back to the roots of my childhood. the song " stars in alabama " caused me to reassess my life, leave Las Vegas and the fast way I was living and go home to my family after being away for 22 years. I had gone through drug addiction, being shot 9 times in 2002 by a man who claimed to love me and feeling all alone in a room full of people for years but through Jamey's song and it's simple lyric, I found my way back home. I now enjoy many country music act's and love many country songs but the music of Jamey Johnson will alway's hold a special place in my soul.

Been a country fan for a great many number of years and would like to go to a major concert series such as this. I am not a "big" fan of just one artist. I enjoy the music for what is was written for and love listening to it.

My wife and I are jamey freaks weve seen him live several times but one night we drove 3 hours to this little place called Hollywood Hollo we stood in line for 2 hours to be stopped @ the door by the fire Marshalls it was an awful experience. So we got in the truck put in a Jamey cd and sang a duet all the way back home. :(

The High Cost of Living was a breath of fresh air. The days of the traditional music row sound have seemed to leave us in the dust. However the steel guitars, and the golden sound of a trusty Gibson have made their way back to mainstream and into listeners ears, through the music of Jamey Johnson. This dude is the real deal. Following in the footsteps of the true outlaw Waylon Jennings, Jamey does music his way, and won't compromise for anybody. This is not pop music, this is bonafide country that we need a lot more of. Why do I want this trip? Because I know that a guy like this may not come around again. This could truly be one of the last true country artists. I want to see him before country finishes its transition to popular music, and gritty country with real feeling, and honest lyrics are gone. Appreciation from others is what I really want.

I was getting tired of all the bad pop/country stuff coming out. Then I found Jamey Johnson. He's such a throwback to the old Outlaw Country style that made me fall in love with country music in the first place. I deserve these tickets because I appreciate what Jamey Johnson is doing. He's staying away from the Pop/Country stuff where anyone with a great voice can turn it into millions and he is doing the style he loves. Going against the grain is tough. I hope he inspires more artists to bring country music back to where it should be.

I lost my grandma four years ago, then I lost my dad a year and 2 1/2 weeks later...now just when I thought my life was actually coming together and going smooth...we found out that my soon to be stepdad has cancer. So many of Montgomery Gentry and Jamey Johnson songs have helped me to cope with all this pain. I dedicated "Lucky Man" to my stepdad. Not everyone can honestly say that they were blessed with two GREAT DADS in their lifetime. One I lost without notice and the other one I'm watching him suffer and it just kills me. Jamey Johnson's "Lead me home" is so touching and so deep. And "In Color" reminds me of listening to all the stories that my stepdad and his brothers and sisters tell about them growing up. It's gonna be a tragedy when he goes but I guess God thinks that my mom and I are really strong. But if it wasn't for country music I wouldn't make it through my day half the time. And being 4 hours away from my mom and stepdad is the hardest right now because I just want to be there with them and and spend as much time with him as I can. It don't matter to me that I've never traveled across the country or that I've never gotten to see a lot. I'm a country girl that lives through the country music and will always be a country music fan.
